Their nephew, Ted Cachart, gave the following brief biography (Mar02): "Marie Antoinette Cachart was my Auntie May who was born on May 1st 1901 at Baighipore, Allahabad and died on 4th May 1963 in Sydney, Australia. She married Maurice Deefholts on Dec 15th 1924 at St Thomas Church, Calcutta and adopted Sheila Deefholts who was born 15th July 1928 at Dooaps, India. Sheila married George Vaclar Fajtek on 19th Feb 1963 at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, NSW and lived at Yatta, South Coast just a little way down from Sydney. George died about 6 years ago and Sheila passed away I believe last year. My father Benjamin Newton Cachart was borne at Secundrabad and came to England in 1915, joined the army, survived the trench warfare with minor wounds to both arms, married Dorothy Clarice Roe and settled here (UK). He seldom spoke of his life in India or our grandparents and as children I suppose we were not very curious so research is extremely difficult. We believe we originated from France (Cachart / Cachard being fairly common names there) but have not yet managed to discover any link."
